Palladian Blue Benjamin Moore

While I love this colour, I’ve not actually used it yet. Where I would love to specify Palladian Blue for a project would be in a washroom, laundry room or bedroom. This tone is so fresh and serene, you could use it in any room of your home.

Palladian Blue Colour Review Video

Undertones: Blue/Green

This blue-green paint colour may appear more one colour than the other, depending on the lighting and what other decorative elements you pair with it in your interior decorating project.

As you can see below, it’s when we start to look at comparisons to other colours, that it becomes very eye-opening.

Colour Comparisons

Soft Fern 2144-40 & Gossamer Blue 2123-40

Palladian Blue Soft Fern and Gossamer Blue

It’s only when we compare colours that we can truly understand the tones and whether they lean more one way or another on the colour spectrum.

When I do Colour Consultations in a client’s home, I am always comparing colours so they too can easily see the differences.

When I hold my large paint boards up to a decorative element such as fabrics, wallpaper or subway tile and then swap out one board with another board, it becomes clearer as to which colour will work best.

Best Whites To Pair With Palladian Blue

White Dove OC-17 by Benjamin Moore

Palladian Blue and White Dove

You may recall that White Dove is one of my all-time favourite Benjamin Moore paint colours. It was one of the first Colour Reviews I did – read all about it and watch the video here.

If you are interested to learn more about the most popular white paint colour check out the White Dove Perfect Colour Guide.

As one of my go-to colours, I have used White Dove in various design projects. Here it is in a stunning dining room design project.

Oxford White CC-30 by Benjamin Moore

Palladian Blue and Oxford White

Oxford White is not as creamy as White Dove. It’s a little on the cooler side, but not as cool as the next white we recommend, White Diamond. We used Oxford White in our Burlington client’s kitchen here for their cabinetry colour. Because it’s a cooler white it worked wonderfully with the gorgeous Carrara marble herringbone backsplash.

White Diamond OC-61 by Benjamin Moore

Palladian Blue And White Diamond

White Diamond is the coolest of these three whites, it sparkles with a hint of blue.

I tend to have around 10 white paint colours that are my best whites for trim and ceilings. You don’t need to see all of the thousands of whites available to you to get the right one. You also do not need to mix two different whites or use only a certain percentage of paint colour to get the one best for you.

I can assure you that the best colour for your project already exists, you just need to know the 5 Steps on how to choose the right paint colour the first time.

Yes! I looove Palladian blue, I’ve used it several places. One client painted her living room in her condo this color, another in a different state did her master bath. It’s such a great color! I love the colors you paired it with! Beautiful.

I love Palladium Blue and SW Sea Salt. The carpet at my previous house was a version of that blue/green combo. It’s such a calming colour.

Hi Lois! It is so pretty, isn’t it?! Maybe a colour to consider for your bedroom or at least as an accent in decorative accessories… Have a great long weekend and hope to see you soon!

I’ve recently seen where someone used Palladian blue as the ceiling color of their front porch, like an homage to the Haint blue of the south. I adore how it looks!

Lora I have only just heard of this expression ‘Haint Blue’ used in regards to the South since posting this blog. So interesting you should mention it! I have seen photos as well with the ceiling painted Palladian Blue, so pretty! Thanks for reading and sharing this with us!

Hi Clair, would palladian blue work well with wythe blue in an adjoining room?

    • Claire Jefford
      | 24 May 2020

Hi Linda. Those colours are very similar, Wythe Blue would work in an adjoining room if we are strictly looking at colour combinations. I don’t know what else you have in the space, so just make sure that other accents and furnishings are complementary.

Hi Sharon. I mentioned Horizon on the blog as a colour that would coordinate nicely with Palladian Blue by Benjamin Moore. There are also a few other neutrals that I list in my Essential colour guide for this colour. You can get that here if you are interested https://clairejefford.com/product/palladian-blue/

Hi Susan. Yes, you can use Palladian Blue for your kitchen cabinets, just be sure to repeat that colour elsewhere in your decor. For example, in a window treatment, island stool fabric or wallpaper.

I used Palladian blue in my laundry room and my master bath. I LOVE it! I used white dove for my trim and cabinet color and it looks wonderful. It’s a very welcoming, soft and uplifting color. I highly recommend if you’re looking for a feel good color.
